Married on Thursday, Jan. 18, 1877, in Bloomington, at the residence of the bride's father, by the Rev. Philputt, Mr. John Crafton to Miss Sallie Alexander. After the ceremony, the happy couple took the northern train for Indianapolis where they remained till Saturday when a few of their intimate friends assembled at the residence of J. J. Alexander and helped to do justice to the bountiful and elegant repast that had been prepared. After a little dancing, lots of congratulations, and many happy wishes for the bride and groom, the company separated.

Mrs. John Crafton, at the lonely home in Roachdale, still hopes that her husband has escaped the fate of the Titanic steamship. She feels that there must yet be some chance and that he might have been picked up by a passing ship or, perhaps, did not sail from London. However, the friends can see no way to expect his safety.
Mr. Crafton's affairs are in good shape as it seems that before he sailed he closed up all business details. In Rose Hill Cemetery a fine granite monument stands--erected by Mr. Crafton some 15 years ago, now a mute sentinel of the awful disaster that will forever prevent the body from reaching the resting place that had been so carefully marked for that purpose. One or two children are buried in the lot.

Mrs. John Crafton Has Good Damage Suit
Damages can now be recovered because of death in the great Titanic steamship disaster, is the decision of the English courts, according to dispatches from London yesterday.
This would mean that the proposed $100,000 damage suit by Mrs. John R. Crafton, until recently of this city, because of the death of her husband in that awful tragedy will have a good standing in court. W. L. Taylor, former attorney general of Indianapolis, is looking after the interests of Mrs. Crafton, whose suit had been joined with many others awaiting decision of the English courts. Mr. Crafton was a native of this county and had lived here until a few years ago when he bought property interests near Roachdale. He was returning from a brief vacation abroad when in the disastrous Titanic wreck.
Hundreds of families of the victims of the wreck at once brought suit for damages, but the company claimed that a printed clause on the ticket kept the corporation from being liable. A London dispatch says...
