After a lingering illness George H. Farnsworth passed away at his Woodruff Street home, Saturday, July 10, 1937, a shock of a few days previous was the immediate cause of death. Mr. Farnsworth was born in Beachville, Canada on August 7, 1853, the son of Thomas and Pheobe Highland Farnsworh. He came to the area at the age of six years, living in Warsaw-Perry-Silver Springs, he had been employed at the salt refinery. On November 10, 1878 he was united in marriage to Agnes Sullivan, who died in August 1926. He was cared for and lived with his daughter, Marguerite Caryl.
This union had eight children, six of whom survive, Frank, Jennie Ralph, Grace Green, Marguerite Caryl, all of Silver Springs, Evelyn Davis of Warsaw, George Farnsworth, Jr. of Buffalo; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Farnsworth of Avoca, Ella Austin of Newark; a brother, Thomas Farnsworth of Newark; several nieces and nephews. The funeral was Tuesday from home with services at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Charles E. Kemp. Interment was in the church cemetery, Silver Springs.
