Amy Jane Cable was born on the 3rd of August 1869 in Ashton, Lee County, Illinois to Joseph Cable and Caroline Gibler at the farm of David Maxwell her uncle. Her father died when she was only a year old and her mother remarried Marvin Andrew Baxter. Her first child was Flora Grace Cable born in Cloud County, Kansas. Cable was Flora Graces last name since she was born out of wedlock and the identity of her biological father is still unknown. Shortly after the birth of Flora Grace, Amy Jane married John Gibson in September 1886 and had three children with him. Margaret Jane, Jesse, Joseph Ernest. Amy Jane then married Peter William Dutcher on the 7th of May 1908 and had one daughter, Madeline Dutcher. After living a while in Jones County, South Dakota with her family, Amy's son Joseph packed up his family in 1932 and moved them all to Combs, Madison County, Arkansas. Both Amy Jane and her daughter Flora Grace settled into the new homes on an old game reserve there in Arkansas. It wasn't but a short time after in 1939 (Just two weeks shy of her 70th birthday) that Amy Jane (Cable) Gibson Dutcher passed away.

This information was provided by her son Joseph E. Gibson personally in 1978.

Rockford Republic, Rockford, Illinois. Pg.5 May 13,1908
