[ Mr. Williams was troubled with asthma and went to Norfolk to escape the rigors of Northern winters. Mr. Williams owned several tin-peddler's wagons, quite common in that day, and engaged quite extensively in the tinware business.

This information was taken from ' The Encyclopedia of Biography. Page 219. It says that Elisha was born in Berlin, but I do believe that he was actually born in Groton, Connecticut. In The U.S.. Connecticut, U.S., Hale Collection of Cemetery Inscriptions and Newspaper notices, 1629-1934 For Elisha Williams It shows that his age was 36 years of age when he died. It is also on his tombstone. His birth date is not on his tombstone. This makes his birth in 1773. He matches up with his parents as being Samuel Williams (1711-1775) and Margaret Huntington (1730- 1733) both of Groton. I do keep checking every once and a while for him or his parents in Berlin, or Farmington, just in case.
