Lowell Gilbert Of Remington Dies Today
Lowell W. Gilbert, 80, a resident of the Remington community for a lifetime, died at the Earl Park Nursing home at 3:45 a.m. today. He had been in ill health for two years.
He was born in Benton county on March 6, 1893, a son of James H.and Eliza (Balcom) Gilbert. He was married to Berle Mason in 1918, at Covington. He was a farmer, and moved to Remington in 1963.
A member of the Remington Presbyterian church, he was a member of the Benton county ASC committee and a director of the Federal Land Bank Association.
Surviving is a son, James, and a brother, Harry W., of Remington. A sister preceded him in death. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Stitz Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Leslie Van Inwegen in charge. Burial will be in Remington cemetery. Friends may call at the Stitz Funeral Home Saturday from 2 until 5 p.m, and 7 until 9 p.m.
