Pauline graduated from Wilson High School, West Lawn, in 1957. She received her bachelor's degree and master's degree in elementary education from Shippensburg University. At Shippensburg, Pauline served as co-editor of the college newspaper and yearbook. She also excelled in college in both field hockey and basketball. She later received her reading specialist's degree from Millersville University.
Pauline began her career as an elementary schoolteacher for the Gov. Mifflin School District in 1961. She later was employed by the Berks County Intermediate Unit as a reading specialist from 1975, until she retired in 1995. Pauline had a passion for teaching and received several awards in her career. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Pauline was also a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church, where she served as director of Christian education for several years.
Pauline enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for gardening, particularly at the family cottage in the mountains. "Grammy" loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and always looked forward to planning her family's annual trip to the Outer Banks. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and teacher.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is survived by her son, Scott L., husband of Debbie I. Wyrick, Mohnton; two daughters, Cynthia K., wife of Andrew S. Koehler, Mohnton, and Pamela S., wife of David B. Crissman, Fleetwood; brother, Stephen G. Guresh, Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren: Zachary S. and William S. Wyrick, Madison E. and Matthew A. Koehler, and Sarah E. and Emma K. Crissman.
Services will be held Monday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. at the West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave., West Lawn, PA 19609. The Rev. Jeffrey A. Raffauf, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton. A viewing will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Contributions may be made to the West Lawn UM Church, Memorial Fund, at the above address. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Shillington, is in charge of arrangements.
