Raymond Jay Cronk Sr., 93, of Grand Island died Sunday, Nov. 28,2010, at Tiffany Square Care Center. Raymond was born on July 19, 1917, in Ord to William Jay and Frances (Neverkla) Cronk.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, DeLoris.
Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Ray, Jr. and Jane of Geneva and Dan and Lynn of Grand Island; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His father died in the flu pandemic of 1918. When Ray was six years old his mother married Frank Kasal. He graduated from Ord High School in 1934, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1941. Ray served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from his career as a banker in 1972 to care for his wife during her extended illness.
Ray was also preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, and brother, Leonard Cronk.
