C. Ernest Mountain
C. Ernest Mountain, 71, of New Enterprise RD died at 8:12 a.m. Saturday, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, following a brief illness.
He was born at Chaneysville, July 29, 1904, a son of William and Sadie (Bennett) Mountain.
He was married to Alice M. Pressel, June 30, 1921, at Cumberland, Maryland, and she survives along with these two children: Donald E., of Streetsboro, Ohio; and Mrs. Shirley J. Border, of Everett RD. Nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters also survive, Homer and Daniel, both of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Beulah Lamborn, and Mrs. Mae Clapper, both of New Enterprise; Mrs. Vada Shriver, Martinsburg; and Mrs. Mary Swayzee, of Hyattsville, Maryland. He was preceded in death by one son, Marlen, in 1967.
Mr. Mountain was a member of the Loysburg United Church of Christ and a retired employee of the Pennsylvania State Highway Department.
Funeral services: Tuesday, November 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, Woodbury, with Rev. A.M. Gordon, Jr., officiating. Burial in the Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
