Betty L Haufler, 65, Burlingame, passed away Tuesday, Nov 18, 2003.
She was born Dedc 24, 1937, in La Salle, Colo., the daughter of Champ and Kate Marney. She spent her childhood in Rocky Comfort, Mo.
She amrried Elmer Dean Haufler, Oct5 4, 1959, at Stella, Mo. He survives at the home.
She was a devoted mother and homemaker on her beautiful hilltop in the Burlingame area since 1961. She worked with the children of USD 330 for 23 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. She was member of Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. She was a member of the Merry Matrons, the Golden Rule Circle and a former member of Fairplain Grange, Burlingame.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Johnston, Topeka; three sons, Rany Haufler, Stafford, Va., Ernie Haufler, Topeka and Matt Haufler, Centralia; 11 grandchildrenb, Justin, Boone and Brock Johnston, Heather Crum and Joey Haufler, Rachel and Ethan Haufler and Hunter, Kathleen, Cassidy and Nathan Haufler; great-grandaughter, Ashleigh Sherman; mother, Kate Marney, Neosho, Mo.; sister, Shirlene DeSpain; and three brothers, Dale Marney, John Marney and J R Marney.
Her father Champ Marney and a grandson, Neal Sherman, preceded her in death.
Services were Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery. Carey Funeal Home in Burlingame was in charge of arrangements.
