Champ Marney passed away in Freeman West Hospital.
He was the son of Kate McNeill & Champ Marney. 9 Apr 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Hailey, who survives. Also surviving are children: Travis Marney of Rocky Comfort, Neil Marney w/wife Amanda of Monett, & Missy Caldwell w/husband David of Monett; siblings: John Marney w/wife Jean of Exeter, Dale Marney w/wife Ava of Humbolt, & Shirlene DeSpain of Wheaton; grandchildren: Paige Marney, Tanner Marney, Cooper Caldwell, Crayton Caldwell & Zach Caldwell plus great grandchild Gavin Caldwell.
Preceding him in death were his parents & sister Betty Haufler.
J R, grew up & received his education at Rocky Comfort, where he graduated from high school. For several years he owned & operated Wheaton Frozen Food plus a sub-mail carrier at Rocky Comfort. He farmed, lived in & around McDonald County his entire life. One of his favorite pastimes was attending ball games and he thoroughly enjoyed his horses. He was a long-time member of Wheaton Saddle Club.
