Mattie Gaston died Sunday morning, March 25th, at about 11 o’clock of diphtheria, after an illness of one week, she was twenty years old the 11th day of last December, she was conscious most of the time during her sickness, and a short time before she breathed her last, sent messages of love to her school mates and friends, that she could not see. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. S. Eberhart. Monday morning at the residence, though but few could be present at the funeral. The friends have the sympathy of the entire community.
