PARENTS: William Hemphill (~1788 - ~1856 Ireland) & Jane McAfee

MARRIED: Chistopher C. Harris 25 Nov 1844 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH
CHILDREN: Mary June/Jane (Bragg)
Lucy Ann (b.~1858)
Louisa O.
Charlotte Marie (Arnold) (b.~1858)
Minerva (Nicolet)
Margaret (Pierce) b. 16 Apr 1856--thanks Zoe-- FAG ## 81064105

Per Hemphill family letter from Dwight Pierce, Margaret came to America with uncle Daniel McAfee, in 1840, age 18.
Wm. Dwight Pierce appears to have been the major researcher of this Hemphill line. His academic and personal papers were left in the care of the L.A. Museum of Natural History. He was a biologist, and world traveler. If anyone is in the L.A. area, able to make arrangements to go thru the Pierce collection (if i understand correctly, it is not extensive, however an appointment must be made) to see if it includes family research, i'd be ever ever so grateful. jth
