Emma was the daughter of Ruben S. and Mattie Mae Farris Mitchell. Her parents are buried in Pisgah (Brushy Creek) Cemetery. Emma was a charter member of Norwood Heights Baptist Church. She married Carl Julian Mann 18 May 1913 in Anderson County. He is buried beside her. Their son, Robert Milton "Bobby" Mann, was killed in the Korean Conflict and is buried in Palestine City Cemetery. Another son, Chester Mann, passed away in 1924 in Mujaine, CA. She was residing in Palestine at the time of her death in a local hospital. She was survived by two sons, Elmo Mann of Centerville, MS and Donald Mann of Tupelo, MS; two daughters, Mary Louise "Lou" Mann Owen and Emily Lee "Lee" Mann Gibson, both of Palestine; one brother, R. W. Mitchell, of Palestine; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Monday, 28 January 1982.
