FLATWOODS-- Mrs. Ressie E. Hoard, 78, of Flatwoods, died Thursday in Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Gassaway, after a short illness.

She was a member of the Flatwoods United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens.

Surviving: daughters, Mrs. June M. Dean of Grafton, Mrs. Charlotte E. Reynolds of Fairfield, Ohio; sons George Donald Hoard of Akron, Ohio, Charles E. Hoard of Glenville; half sisters, Mrs. Edna G. Dean of Gassaway, Mrs. Dorothy S. Nay of Weston, Mrs. Ora C. Shaver and Mrs. Hilda E. Kory, both of Exchange, Mrs. Helen V. Rohrbaugh of Riffle; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Flatwoods United Methodist Church with Rev. Oouis B. Simmers officiating. Burial was in Flatwoods Cemetery. Stockert Gibson Funeral Home, Flatwoods, was in charge of the arrangements.
