John Dahl 1856-1947

Funeral services were held at the Kingdom Hall on Tuesday, January 7 for John Dahl, 90, who passed away at the Clearwater Hospital January 2 where he had been brought following an attack of pneumonia. Services were conducted by Brother Larson of Grand Forks. Interment was made in the Bagley Cemetery.
John Dahl was born in Norway on December 21, 1856, and came to America with his parents at the age of 4 months. They settled at Madison Wisconsin, and from there moved to Mower County, Minnesota. Here, on March 25, 1881, he was united in marriage to Martha Oftedahl and shortly after moved to North Dakota for a stay of three years.
They then moved to Minnesota, taking up a homestead near McIntosh, where they resided for nine years. Following this, they moved to a farm 4 miles north of Wilton. In the next 19 years they resided on a farm in North Dakota, later moving to Bagley where they have since lived.
Nine children were born to the couple, two daughters and 7 sons.
He leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters, Eva of Bagley and Billie (Mrs. Brevik) of Washington, 3 sons, Bennie of Bagley, Joe of Loma, North Dakota, and Otto of Hampden, North Dakota; also 32 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
