She was the daughter of Joseph Wright and Elizabeth Bissell,granddaughter of Asahel Wright, UE and David Bissell, UE, great-granddaughter of Ebenezer Wright, UE and Joseph Haines, UE.

She m. 1) Augusta, Ontario 15 Jan 1833 Samuel Landon, b. Augusta, Ontario abt. 1812, d. there abt. 1846, son of Reuben Landon and Sarah Ann Phillips, grandson of Samuel Landon, UE and Ziba Phillips, UE, and great-grandson of Daniel Burritt, UE. Samuel was also a descendant of William Bassett, a Leiden Pilgrim who arrived in Plymouth Colony in 1621 and of Francis Sprague, who arrived in Plymouth Colony in 1623. Samuel was a merchant and later a schoolteacher. They had Maria (b. 1835), Reuben (b. 1838) and Samuel (b. 1847).

Elizabeth m. 2) Augusta, Ontario abt. 1847-48 Alexander McKenzie, b. Scotland abt. 1812, d. Augusta, Ontario bef. 1871. Alexander was a cooper. Together they had William Lyon (b. 1848), Elizabeth (b. abt. 1850) and Catherine (b. 1854). William married Lois Velona Manhard and lived in Brockville, where he was a merchant. Elizabeth married James Anthony Newell and lived in Toronto. Catherine married Malcolm Howard Bissell and lived in Brockville.

Elizabeth (Wright) (Landon) McKenzie was the first postmistress appointed in Canada West, managing the office at Wright's Corners, Augusta township, in what is now the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville, Ontario.
