James and Anna Cochran had nine children and lost six of them - three in February, 1877 - a terrible year for the family. The children that lived to become adults were John, William, and Mary. Anna lived in the Mount Washington area of Pittsburgh, Pa, passing away in 1923.

Neither John or Mary had children. William married Elizabeth Brennen in Ohio in 1909 and had William, born in 1912, and Anna May, born in 1914. Elizabeth died of the Spanish Flu in 1918 and William and Anna went to live with Elizabeth's sister Mary, who was married to Walter T. Adams, Sr. Walter was the last burgess of Hays, Pennsylvania before it was taken into the city of Pittsburgh. Anna Clements Cochran's son John was also a burgess of Hays, Pa.

Children Include: Sarah (1870-?), Robert (1872-1877), James (1874-1877), Hannah (1876-1877), Annie (1878-1880), John (1879-1949), William (1881-1959), Mary (1883-1966), James (1885-1886).

Anna May Cochran, born in 1914, married Duane Reese Carnahan in 1936 and had son Rodney in 1940. William Cochran, Jr. married Agnes Kirkwood in 1936 and had Billy in 1937, Judy in 1940, and Carol in 1941.
