LOLA FERN DuVIGNEAUD
21FEB1915-22APR2003
Lola was born on a homestead ranch in the Badlands of South Dakota. Her youth was spent at school and helping her parents and numerous siblings work the ranch.
She became a nurse and served for two years at the Sioux Reservation Hospital at Pine Ridge before transferring to the Merchant Marine Hospital in San Francisco. There she met her future husband, DeSales G. DuVigneaud, a young medical officer in the US Navy. The next 24 yeas were spent at various duty stations until 'Dr. Dee' retired from the Navy and went into private practice in San Diego, with Lola serving as his office nurse. They closed the practice in 1976 and spent their retirement years playing golf with their many friends in San Diego. Lola was widowed in 1984.
Lola was an avid gardner, but her favorite activity was visiting with her grandchildren. When she could no longer drive and lead an independent life, she moved to Mendocino County with her son's family.
She is survived by a sister, a daughter and son, and 3 grandchildren.
Requiescat in Pace.........
