"Rev. Freeman VanAmburgh, is listed in names of deceased ministers in the "Register of Freewill Baptists", as having "d. Aug. 3, 1871, age 78 yrs, at Bath, N.Y."
He was in the War of 1812, proven as his wife, Anna, filed a widow's pension on his service in Capt. Ellis Co., N.Y. Mil., #URS orig 44506."
"Rev. VanAmburgh settled a few years after his military service at Bath, where he remained for most of life. He was converted in 1824 along with others under the labors of Rev. Z. Dean, and later was organized into a Freewill Bapt. church. He was ordained on Sept. 4, 1836, and continued a faithful laborer until strength and life failed."

In 1850, he is listed with wife "Anna/Annie" age 48; his occ was "F Bapt. minister", son,Sheldan 23y; son, Bignal 21y; and dau. Mary, 18y. (these are only part of their children's names).

In 1860, he lived at Savana, Steuben Co, Freeman, age 67, occ. FB minister, and Anna, age 59 in household (HH).
In 1870, Freeman is listed as F.Bapt. minister, with Anna.
By 1880, Anna is living with son, James, age 51, and his family.
