ce Long, formerly of 383 Carver Circle, died March 30, 1998, in Manning Convalescent Home, Portsmouth.
Born in Northampton County, N.C., she was the widow of Jasper Long and had retired as a presser for Hagwood Laundry and Dry Cleaners after 25 years of service. She was a member of Twine Memorial Holy Temple Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary M. Pair and her husband, Alfred, of Portsmouth and Naomi Garner of Seaboard, N.C.; two brothers, William Peebles of New York City and Willie Phillips of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thurday in Twine Memorial Holy Temple Church, Portsmouth, by Elder Michael B. Porter Sr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens , Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday. The family will be at the home of her sisters, 2825 High St., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral procession to the church.
