----------------NEWPORT NEWS - Elizabeth B. "Betty" Goodrich, 82, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 27, 2002. She was born in Danville, VA, and was a Newport News resident for over 44 years. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Bohannon and Bessie Mae Ingram Bohannon. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William H. Goodrich; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lou Mercer of Mechanicsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Jacqueline Walthall of Newport News; 11 grandchildren, Debra, Sunny, Dawn, William, Charles, Roberto, Genevieve, Louie, Lisa, Robin, and Marcella; as well as 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Michael Condrey Friday, March 29, at Altmeyer Funeral Home Peninsula Chapel. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News.
