Funeral services for Carl T. Barton, 80, former Broadacres resident who died in Portland last week Tuesday after a long illness, were held Saturday afternoon at the Ringo Funeral chapel in Woodburn. Interment was at Belle Passi cemetery beside his wife Polly who died in 1948.
Mr. Barton was born in Russia April 1, 1873, and moved to Canada in 1894 where he had a homestead. In 1924 he moved to Silverton and 20 years later came to the Broadacres district near here.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Barton of San Francisco, and William Barton of Portland; three daughters, Elizabeth McKetch of Vancouver, B. C., Molly Slinkard of Redding, Cal., and Nellie Knight of Broadacres; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
