Services will be held Friday for Hazel Leona Bowers, 79, 202 Dagley Ct., who died Wednesday at about 8:30 a.m. at W.S. Major Hospital.
Born July 10, 1908, in Elwood, she was the daughter of Enoch and Ida Downham.
Mrs. Bowers was the widow of Leon Bowers, who died in 1972.
A Shelbyville resident since 1947, she was employed at Admiral Corp. until her retirement in 1962. She was a member of the Shelbyville Eagles.
Survivors include a son, Harold Bowers, Shelbyville; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Thelma) Bell, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Melvin (Lilly) Morrison, Shelbyville; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, a daughter and a brother preceded her in death.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Carmony Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and burial will be at Bennett Cemetery.
