She was born on May 23, 1931, in Albert Lea the daughter of Ben and
Agnes (Loken) Shurson.
She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland.
She graduated from New Richland High School in 1949. On March 15, 1953, she was united in marriage to Vincent Peterson at Trinity Lutheran Church, where they continue to be members. Virginia had been very active in church activities throughout her life.
She enjoyed painting ceramics, decorating for Christmas, helping with the Waseca County Fair and tending to her yard and flowers. She volunteered for many things with a very willing and giving heart. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
She is survived by her husband Vincent Peterson of New Richland, four children:
