Errol Shippen Willes, 91, of Fort Pierce died Monday, June 21, 1999.

A native of Sewall's Point, he lived in Fort Pierce for 69 years.

Before retirement, he was the attorney for St. Lucie County School Board and City of Fort Pierce.

He was a 69-year member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Fort Pierce, where he served on the Vestry as senior warden and Sunday school superintendent. He was on the executive board of the church and the standing committee of the diocese.

He was past exalted ruler of the Elks Fort Pierce Lodge 1520.

He graduated from University of Florida Law School in 1930.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Frederick Willes, in 1978.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Marjorie Tylander Willes of Fort Pierce; a son, Richard Errol Willes of Fort Pierce; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A service was held Saturday, June 26, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Pierre W. Whalon officiating.

Burial was in Riverview Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the church at 210 South Indian River Dr., Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
