Harry S. Evans , 82, of Vero Beach, died Sept. 14, 2001, at VNA Hospice House after a prolonged illness. Mr. Evans was born Feb. 25, 1919, in East Moline, IL and moved to Vero Beach 44 years ago from Silvis, IL.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a master craftsman and had worked at Vero Beach Music prior to working for Florida Labels and Systems in Vero Beach, from which he retired.
Mr. Evans was a member of the Vero Christian Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include son, James Gary Evans; daughter, Charlene Hodgin; sister, Helen Ryun; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held 11a Tuesday at the Vero Christian Church with Danny L. Dye officiating and Scott Blount assisting. Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach, is in charge of arrangements.
