Teresa "Tess" (Patti) Zbuchalski
Teresa "Tess" (Patti) Zbuchalski, 47, of Plano, Texas went to heaven on December 9, 2010, peacefully at home. She was the wife of Michael Zbuchalski.Born March 23, 1963, in Paterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Maria (Schorli) Patti and the late Gaetano "Tom" Patti.
Tess grew up in Oakland, New Jersey and received her chemical engineering degree from the University of Florida. After graduating, she worked in research and development for Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.
For the past 15 years, Tess was an inspirational leader and mentor in R&D and Marketing at Frito Lay in Plano, Texas. During her more than 20-year career in the foods business, she created many new products and brands including Duncan Hines Cake Frostings, Duncan Hines Brownies, Doritos Spicy Nacho Cheese, Rold Gold Pretzels and Flat Earth Snack Chips.
She enjoyed playing and coaching soccer. Tess was one of the first women soccer referees certified in the state of New Jersey.
She will be remembered by all who knew her for her lively spirit, wry sense of humor, compassion, creativity and brilliant mind. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her beloved husband of 15 years, Michael, Tess leaves behind her loving daughter Nicole; her mother Maria Patti of East Stroudsburg; sisters and brothers-in-law: The Honorable Margherita "Maggie"" Patti Worthington and Andy Worthington of Stroudsburg, Patrizia "Trish" and Chris Pescatore of Florham Park, NJ; and nieces and nephews: Kate, Will, Tom and Maggie.
A Christian burial will be held at noon on Thursday, December 16, at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Entombment will take place in the Mountainview Mausoleum, Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, at the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
A memorial service to celebrate Tess will be held in Plano, Texas in January. Details about the memorial service in Plano will be published at a later date.
