Aldora "Dora" Higgs was born June 23, 1861, in Boone County, Indiana, the daughter of Benjamin Truman Higgs (1830-1909) and his first wife Perlina Tingle.
Dora married Samuel H. "Sam" Jones on September 2, 1888, in Sumner County, Kansas. Sam was born May 2, 1852, in Indiana, the son of John S. and Malinda (Schuder) Jones. Dora and Sam had the following known children:
1. Lola "Blanche" Jones (1892-1976). Blanche never married and lived on the family farm her entire life.
2. Roy Herbert Jones, (1897-1975)
Dora died at home on January 8, 1929, in Greene Township, Sumner County, Kansas. She was buried on January 10, 1929.
Samuel died May 18, 1932.
