Grace P. Reeder
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Pool Reeder, 97, of Crossville, IL, and Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, from the chapel of Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home in Carmi, IL. Burial was in Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Crossville, IL.

Mrs. Reeder went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 5, 2002.

Born August 10, 1904, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Timothy Setzer and Rebecca Caroline (Kennedy) Allred.

Grace loved her family and found much comfort in helping raise grandchildren, Randy, Allan, and Boni Hamblin after Grandpa Reeder went home. She taught them about the Lord and lead by example which left lasting memories and love for her many many years after her passing.

She attended and loved the Crossville Church of Christ and had many friends in the community. She gardened and mowed her large lawn until she was quite aged because she believed the exercise was good for her and she loved being outdoors and nature.

She had an amazing dry sense of humor that one had to be really quick to catch and she kept it until the end.

In her last years with sight failing, she could crochet anything she decided just by feel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her beloved husband, Oscar Dowe Reeder; a son, O.D. Flowers; a brother, Alfred Allred; two sisters, Ava (Allred) Wisdom and Colva (Allred) Winningham; and nieces and nephews.

She leaves three daughters and a son-in-law, Oneda Herbert (Flowers) and John Haney of Harrisburg Il, Ava Ann (Flowers) Sutton, of Medina, OH, and Glenda (Reeder) Hamblin of McLeansboro, IL; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Leola Bell (Reeder) and Wendell Holmes Camden of Doylestown Ohio and Nina Arlene (Reeder) and Edward Hugh Xanders, of Mt. Dora, FL; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Junior Cleo and Elsie Reeder, Akron, OH; a daughter-in-law, Lona (Grable) Flowers, Akron, OH; a sister, Dorothy Lee (Allred) Winningham, Algood; 15 other grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
