He was the grandson of Hampton Wade and Jane Ellis Wade and William Wyatt and Elizabeth Eggleston Wyatt of Virginia. Eggleston Wade married Mahulda Lenora Smart and had a large family, residing in Haywood Co., NC.

Eggleston is found in census records in Richmond Co., NC, named in his father's will and in estate records naming his older brother, Edwin Wade as administrator.

In 1831 Eggleston Wade had become a resident of Hardeman County, Tennessee where he hired an agent to defend him in a controversy between him and his brother Edwin Wade over one hundred dollar debt for rent on land. Edwin was the executor of his father Horatio Wade's will making him responsible for collection of all debts owed his father's estate.
