Services For Unie Poland

Lone Oak -- Funeral services for Lone Oak resident Unie V. Poland, 88, who died Tuesday, February 5, 1991, at Citizens General Hospital were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February, 7, 1991, at First Christian Church of Lone Oak with Rev. Bob Priest officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Dallas.


Born February 14, 1902, in Coshatta, La., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Adcock. She married Emmett Poland, in Coshatta, on July 12, 1919. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Irving, she was retired from the Ralston Purina Co. in Dallas.


Survivors include two sons, Edward Polan and Leonard Polan, both of Lone Oak; a daughter, Wenona Coleman of East Tawakoni; two brothers, Elbert Adcock of Oak Grove, La., and Elton Adcock of Lufkin; five sisters, Eugenia Pickett and Jewell Curry, both of Doyline, La., Mary Giddons of Ringgold, La., Nita Ruth Bennett of Mitha, La., and Ada Bess (Bobbie) Talbot of Mooringsport, La. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 29, 1939.


Pallbearers were Bob Souther, J. R. Stevens, A. P. Clark, Ricky Polan, Allen Blair and Donny Hicks.

Bartley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
