The people in this part of country had a sad surprise Saturday morning, March 10 when news was flashed over the wire that Mrs. Fred Campbell had died very suddenly near Rush Springs.
Mrs. Campbell was the baby child of Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Williams who live seven miles west of Minco, Oklahoma
Bertha Williams was born February 2, 1891 in Platt county, Missouri and came to Oklahoma with her parents October 14, 1901. She was married to Fred Campbell May 14, 1909. They lived in this part of the country 6 or 7 years and then moved near Rush Springs. Bertha died March 10, 1917 at 5 o clock a.m. Her death was a terrible shock to her folks and to her many friends in this neighborhood. It was sad to see her old father and mother come tottering into the church to take the last look at their baby child- a farewell look in this world but they can see her in the world beyond. She obeyed the gospel at Minco about three years ago during a meeting held by Elder A.L. Elkins and was baptized by Elder G.T. Garrett and so far as we know has lived a devote Christian since that time and we have known her from a little girl. We can say that she was always a kind loving and obedient child and was loved by all that knew her and her death is lamented by her many friends and relatives. She leaves a husband, father, mother and three sisters, two in attendance, one in a hospital at Kansas City unable too attend, and two brothers to morn her loss besides a host of friends. We will say that it looks good to see so many many people attend, a funeral as attended Sunday when Ms Bertha Campbell was laid to rest in the Minco cemetery. The German people called their church meeting off and all attended the funeral assisted in every way possible and we all feel that we have only done what we should do when the angel of death over takes one of our friends and loved ones.
Elder G.T. Garrett conducted the funeral services The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community,
