He was the son of Dr. Winthrop and Louisa (Hoyer) Dyer.

An old Indian that worked for them started calling him Bob when he was born and it stuck and that is what his siblings called him. He grew to adulthood in San Pasqual valley.

On 16 Jan 1922 he married Florence Beaudreau. A son, Robert Vinton, was born to them on 4 Apr. 1923. A few years later this marriage ended in divorce. Florence and little Robert moved to Las Vagas.

He married 2nd unknown.

He married 3rd Bessie (Croutch) Westerman, 23 Oct 1935, Yuma, Arizona.

He was a truck driver and owned a small chicken ranch on the west end of Grand avenue in Escondido.

Services and burial of Otis V. Dyer, 66, of 3302 Descanso Ave., Vista, a lifelong county resident, who died Wednesday in a hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today in Valley Center Cemetery.
A native of San Pasqual, Dyer was a retired truck driver. He is survived by a son and a step granddaughter, Mrs Merwin Ryker of Escondido and two grandchildren. Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary, Escondido is in charge.
