Catharine (Katherine) was born and raised in Pennsylvania. At age 16 she married Thomas Naylor. In the 1880s they moved to Lewis County, Washington, where they farmed and raised five children. Thomas died in 1904, and two years later Catherine married Anson Burlingame, also a farmer. He died in 1910. Catharine applied for a Civil War pension as the widow of Thomas Naylor and as the widow of Anson Burlingame.

Her obituary was published in the Lewis County Advocate on Apr. 28, 1922.

Gravesite Details

Her gravestone may never be found. The cemetery was on private land. The tombstones were put in a pile and overgrown with brush. In 1982 the Lyons Club restored the cemetery, but many graves remain unidentified.
