Frances Martin Golden, 89, Wyomissing, died December 27, 2010, at the Highlands At Wyomissing Nursing Care Center.
She was born October 29, 1921, in Baltimore, to Mark H. and Agnes (Bergendahl) Martin.
She graduated from Reading High School in 1939 and Cedar Crest College, Allentown, in 1943. Following college, she was employed as a secretary at the former Pottieger Construction Company, West Reading. An avid golfer, she joined the Berkshire Country Club in 1943.
On February 25, 1946, she married Albert W. Golden Jr., who died October 11, 2004. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing; the Junior League of Reading; and the Woman's Exchange.
She is survived by a son, Albert W. Golden III, husband of Kathryn Bertolet Golden, Wyomissing; and a daughter, Diane Golden Birdsall, wife of Dennis A. Birdsall, Stuart, Florida.
A son, Robert Mark Golden, predeceased her in 2000.
Other survivors include five grandchildren: Kathryn Golden Goodman, wife of Laurence M. Goodman, and Olivia Bertolet Golden, wife of Matthew T. Golden, all of Wyomissing; Mark Christopher Golden, husband of Mollie Banzuly Golden, Chicago, Illinois; Dennis A. Birdsall Jr., husband of Monica Beilharz Birdsall, Stuart, Florida; and Amanda Lee Birdsall, Vero Beach, Florida; and a daughter-in-law, Sally Butcher Golden, Hershey, Pa.
There are four great-grand children: Max G. Goodman, Elizabeth B. Goodman, Vivian B. Golden and Kingston Jay Birdsall.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Memorial contributions are welcome to the Salvation Army Reading Corps, 301 S. Fifth St., Reading, PA 19602-2310. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
