MANTEO, NC-Hatton Howard Midgett, Sr., 76, of Wingina Ave., a lifelong resident of Manteo and the husband of Georgie Baum Midgett, died Sunday, May 15, 1983, in a nursing home.
He was a retired fisherman and a Coast Guard veteran and was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Tracy M. Griggs of Virginia Beach; two sons: Hatton Howard Midgett, Jr. of Manteo and Robert Thomas Midgett of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and a grandchild.
The funeral Tuesday in Twiford Colony Chapel in Manteo by the Revs. David Daniels and Carroll Daniels, burial in Manteo Cemetery.
