FRED G. ANDERSON

Frederick Gustaf Anderson, 80, son of Anders Gustaf and Gustava Anderson, was born Feb. 2, 1876, and departed this life Saturday, June 16, 1956 at his home in Chariton. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Muriel Martin on June 4, 1901. To this union were born nine children. All members of the family survive, Mrs. Lois Ambelang, Martha Irene Anderson, and Mrs. Agatha Boothe, all of Chariton; Mrs. Nancy Rose, of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Dorothy McDonald, of Albia; Thomas M. Anderson, of Jackson, Tenn.; Gerald M. Anderson, of Vallejo, Calif.; L. Raymond Anderson, of Redfield; and Glenn L. Anderson, of Waverly, Iowa.

He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Clara Carlson and a brother, Carl Anderson, both of Boone; and 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Fred was a lifelong resident of this community, a member of the Knights of Pythias, and followed the carpentry trade for over fifty years.

He was a devoted husband and father, interested in, and proud of his family. He leaves a host of friends and acquaintances to mourn his death.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 19, at 2 p.m. at the Beardsley funeral home. The Rev. C. P. Shepard officiated. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
