Amelia and her father had originally been buried in the old Pioneer Hill Cemetery. When a new cemetery was created the bodies at Pioneer Hill were removed there with the exception of John and Amelia. They were moved to the property where John had built the McIntire Children's Home on Blue Avenue. This location is now owned by Zanesville City Schools. John and Amelia still lie in rest in a fenced off area on the property. A memorial plaque has been erected in honor of Pioneer Hill Cemetery.
