KETCHUM, ELMER JR. "NEWT" - Of Homer, passed away at Allegiance Hospice Home January 4, 201, age 87 years. He was born to Elmer Sr. and Beulah Ketchum who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalie and his second wife, Audrey. Surviving are one daughter, Susan (Richard) Ludwig of Jackson; one son, John Ketchum of Arizona; three stepsons, Bob (Diane) Pritchard, David Pritchard and Carl (Serena) Pritchard; one stepdaughter, Brenda ( Paul) Hall; three grandchildren, Troy and Kaitlyn Ludwig and Taylor Ketchum; and his mother, Patty; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 19 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was a Navy pilot during World War II, graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, was a longtime employee for Combustion Engineering in Detroit, MI and retired from Consumers Power Co., was a member of the 1064 Flying Club, owning two aircrafts, a Cessna 150 and a Cessna 170. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and skiing. Mr. Ketchum is at the Watson Funeral Chapel where services will be held Friday 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Andrew J. Dunne O.S.F.S. officiating. Entombment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Contributions may be made the Jackson County Medical Care, 524 Lansing Ave., Jackson, MI 49201 or Allegiance Hospice Home 2150 Kingsbrooke Dr., Jackson, Mi 49202.
