Gailon Satterfield, 65, passed away Wednesday morning at Muncie Health Care Center.
He was born in Muncie, the son of Kathryn (Holt) Satterfield and Ed Satterfield. Gailon attended school in Hobart, Indiana. He worked at the Muncie Star and with Christian Ministries. Gailon enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR and Colts fan.
Survivors include his mother, Kathryn Satterfield, Muncie; one son, Scott Satterfield (wife-Elizabeth), Muncie; two daughters, Carrie Lynn Jackman (husband-Russell) of Sparta, Kentucky, and Kim DeGard (husband-Larry) of Chesterton; two sisters, Joyce Satterfield of Muncie, and Sheila Satterfield of Muncie; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one niece; three nephews; several cousins; and the mother of his children, Marian Curl of Valparaiso.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Elm Ridge Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow services. Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. Monday.
