Ruby Thurman Hall, 85, of 511 Eighth St., Altavista, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at her home. She was the wife of the late Herbert William Hall.
Born Sept. 27, 1917 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew L. Thurman and Blanche Palmer Thurman.
She is survived by one son, Donald R. Hall of Altavista; two daughters, Shirley Suffel of Rocky Mount and Marian H. Ingram of Boones Mill; one brother, James Thurman of Richmond; two sisters, Thelma Greer of Gladys and Dora Tanner of Victoria; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Caroline Hall.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 in Swan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Bill Robertson.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at Finch & Finch, Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
