A. 1885; attended Red Wing Seminary, 1887-1889 (C T). ord. 1889; married Gidske Svensdatter Sigmundstad in 1889; pastor, Taylor,WI 1889-1894; attended Minnesota University, 1894-1895 ; came to Shanghai, China Aug. 21, 1895; Fancheng, Hupeh, 1895-1903; married Alma Carlson Peterson 8/21/1898, 1 Smieh. Honan, 1903-1905, and Nov. 12, 1907 with wife & 4 Ch. to China,1909; to Santa Rosa. Cal.. U. S. A., 1912—; prof. theology, Red Wing Seminary, 1907, 1911-12; Author of "Guds veie med et gjenstridigt folk" (the Boxer uprising) 1902; "Hauge Synodes edited "Evangeliets Seier". 1916; returned to China. He was a Professor of Theology at Red Wing Seminary; then minister in Santa Rosa, CA, and school chairman. Married Anna Olsdatter Sigmund in 1922. Lastely, he was traveling secretary for the Norwegian Lutheran Church's pension fund. Survived by sons, Carl, Norman, Thor and 3rd wife Anna.
