WANCHESE, NC-William Woodard Peele, 76, a retired fisherman, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1965, at 7:30 a.m. in Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City after an illness of a week. A native of Hatteras, he lived here eight years.

He was a son of William E. and Mrs. Patsy Midgett Peele and the husband of the late Mrs. Louisa Day Austin. He was a member of Hatteras First Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons: Lauris Peele of Wanchese and William M. Peele of Virginia Beach; three daughters: Mrs. Jesse Etheridge and Mrs. Myrna Abbott of Wanchese and Mrs. Lila Willis of Virginia Beach; three step-daughters: Mrs. Lavenia Willis of Wanchese, Mrs. Matilda Gibbs of Chesapeake and Mrs. Ella McPherson of Manteo; 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday in Assembly of God Church.
