Mrs. Alice Wallace, 79, widow of the late Henry Wallace, died at the home of a son six miles West of Athens on Thursday evening at 6:30. She had been ill with a complication of troubles.
Funeral services were held at the chapel of the Athens Funeral Home here at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, with Elder L.D. Rose conducting the service. Burial followed at the city cemetery in charge of the Athens Funeral Home.
Deceased was born in Mississippi but was brought to Texas when an infant. She had been a resident of Henderson county for the past 78 years.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by five sons and one daughter as follows: John, Will, T.H., F.D. and D.B. Wallace and Miss Oma Wallace. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Deceased had been a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for many years.
