Son of Martin Holman, Jr. and Rosannah Foy. Enlisted 22 AUG 1862 with Company H of the 123rd Ohio Volunteers Infantry at Camp Monroeville, Ohio. Died of injuries sustained (gunshot wounds to the back and right arm) in the Battle of Berryville (Va.) on 03 Sep 1864.

Brother of Jacob Holman, John Holman, Mary Holman, William Holman, Sarah A. Holman Pontious, Leah Holman Lee, Frances Holman Dewiel, and Michael Holman.
