Frantisek Doubrava was born in Litomysl, Chrudim, East Bohemia, Czech Republic in 1834. In 1873, he and his family immigrated to the US. He married Anna Sokol in 1857. They were the parents of John E., Frank, Joseph, Ralph William, Wenslow, Tobias, Anna and Emma Eugenia.


The four older sons were all born in Bohemia (current day Czech Republic), with Tobias born in LeGrande, IA in 1876. The family moved to Palacky Township in 1878. Thanks to Joe Doubrava for the additional info!
