EDENTON -James Edward "Ed" Hare, 78, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, in his home on Virginia Road.
A native of Chowan County, Mr. Hare was the husband of Myrtle Wilkins Hare and a son of the late David Richard and Mammie Clyde McClenny Hare. He was a retired farmer and a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church.
Surviving other than his wife is his daughter and her husband, Mary Ann and Sammy Morris of Edenton; his son and his wife, Marvin and Cynthia Hare of Plymouth, N.C.; his sister, Cornelia Perry of Tyner, N.C.; his brother, Kelly Hare of Tyner, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Lynn Morris Duncan of Cherryville, N.C., Betsy Hare Heath of Kinston, N.C., Bonny Morris Tynch of Falls Church, Va., Jeanie Hare of Plymouth, N.C., and Susan Morris of Edenton.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rocky Hock Baptist Church by the Revs. Ron Cava and Paul Harrell. Burial will follow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Evans Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
