From a Christmas card in the 1960's. He had retired by then. They had their dog with them and were living in New York.

This is the only picture I have from their 1st visit to see us @1956, when we lived on Charmaren Drive, San Jose, Ca. We were the children they never had and they took us to a wonderful toy store and had us each pick just one toy we wanted. [I chose Lincoln Logs]. We were overwhelmed, to say the least.

One last picture of my Aunt Helen and Uncle Allen Hussar before they left for the San Francisco Airport to return to New York, July, 1964, in front of my house in Castro Valley, California. [I was 12 yrs. old, the designated family picture taker, according to my mom.]

Aunt Helen and Uncle Allen getting ready to leave for the San Francisco Airport to return to New York. They came by to say good bye. L-R, Aunt Helen, my sister, Wendy (their niece), my grandfather (Helen's father), my sister, Nancy, (their niece) and Uncle Allen. In front of our house in Castro Valley, Contra Costa Co., CA.
