John Cleaveland, he died "on board the continental ship EUSTIS, Lemuel Bishop, Captain, dyed of the jailfever, having been captivated in his voyage to the west indies, first by the British, and then by the french in a dutch ship; and put into Jail at Gaudeloop; he sailed from Salem on his sd voyage with Capt.
