Irene {Cornwall Dann} Wolf
passed away in her home at
Beatrice Hover Assisted Living
on July 22nd, at the age of 94.

She was under the care of Hospice of Boulder and Bloomfield
Counties.

Irene was born on June 16, 1916
in Palmer, Iowa, to
John and Mary Cornwall. She was the oldest of 12 children.

She served two years in the
Order of Saint Francis and returned to Palmer, completed her
high school education and worked in Des Moines.

Irene married EVERETT DANN in
1941 and resided in Ankeny, Iowa.

EVERETT died in 1953 and Irene returned to Palmer, with her children, David and Deborah to live with her parents.

She married George Wolf of Pocahontas in 1960 and they lived on his farm outside of Pocahontas.
George passed away in 1973 and Irene remained on the farm until she moved to Longmont, Colorado in
2005 to be closer to her daughter and family in Colorado.

Irene lived in Hoover Manor
Independent living, for four years and then moved to Beatrice Hover
Assisted living for the last year.

In life Irene was an active member of the Pocahontas community.

She could be found at any social gathering especially those that involved playing cards or sharing food.

Irene was well known for her appreciation of birds and flowers and will be always be remembered for the joy she found in family.

She loved people and quietly made friends with everyone.

She enjoyed being a hostess and brought kindness and thoughtfullness to the world around her.

Irene is survived by her children David {Lois} Dann and
Deborah Croteaus; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two sisters.
Phyliss Hohensee of
Fort Dodge, Iowa and
Peggy Cornwall of Longmont, Co. along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands
{Everett and George} brothers
{Ralph and Joseph}, sisters
{Mary, Delores, Geraldine, Helen,
Patricia, Norma Jean, and Agnes}; and many friends.

Irene was cremated and a
Memorial service will be held at
Hoover Community All Faiths Chapel
on Tuesday July 27th at 10 a.m.
A service of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday July 29th, at
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Chapel at 10:30 a.m.

She will be intered at a later date in Pocahontas, Ia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

The Cornwall family reunion was held Sunday in the Ankeny, Iowa,
Legion hall, honoring CPL. Geraldine Cornwall who was discharged from the Army after
3 & 1/2 years of service. She returned from Germany Sunday.

Those present were her parents,
Mr. & Mrs. John Cornwall and Peggy of Palmer, Mr. & Mrs. Milford Hohenseo and Kathy,
Mr. & Mrs. Paul Frlodrios and children and Norma Joan Cornwall, all of Fort Dodge,
Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Cornwall and Pat of Leon,
MR. & MRS. EVERETT DANN
AND FAMILY,
Mr. & Mrs. Helen Whirlow
and John, Misses Mary and
and Cornwall, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Fett, all of Ankeny.

A pot luck dinner was served. This was the first time in 15 years that the entire family has been together.
